FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Orioles made their second round of cuts on Friday, removing six players from the Spring Training roster. Baltimore released two players, reassigned two to Minor League camp in Sarasota, Fla., and optioned two more to Triple-A Norfolk, trimming the number of players in camp to 50.

The only senior on Maryland's basketball team had just learned the Terrapins would be going to the NCAA tournament, and a wave of emotion enveloped him.
