I am a Private investigator, working for Guardian Security & Investigation here in Frederick, and I'm trying to get more in touch with the community through the different forums and blogs for the county.
Thanks for signing up with FredRocks, that logo you uploaded looks really good. Do you have a background in graphic design as well as security services? I noticed that in your profile you mention you're trying to get more in touch with the community, and I think I've got a great way for you to do so, while giving your company some good exposure. Just last night, a friend of mine told me that he is setting up an event to benefit a variety of animal shelters in the area. It will be in August, and will run from 2 to 9 on a Sunday at Cafe 611. Everyone involved is really excited because so far, the venue, bands, and all organizers associated with the event are donating their services completely free of charge, which means that absolutely 100% of the proceeds are going to the animal shelters. It also means the show won't be expensive, so there should be a really good turnout. He is doing a wide variety of bands, with Do-Wop and Jazz early in the day, transitioning to Hip Hop and Metal later in the evening. He asked me if I knew of anyone who might want to help work the door and check IDs, etc. They're making it an all ages show, so they need someone to collect the $5 cover, and give out wrist bands. I'm sure this event is small compared to what you typically do, and I certainly wouldn't want to trouble your company. Obviously you can't go around providing free services just for the publicity on a regular basis. If you guys have uniforms, then everyone going in would see your logo then, and he would mention your name when thanking everyone who has contributed. Still, if this sounds like an event you'd like to put your company's name on, the earlier you could do so the better. He is having fliers and posters made, and wants to make sure that anyone who is helping out gets the chance to have their logo on added, so they get as much exposure as possible.
Again, if it's too much trouble, or would be hard to justify with the rest of your company, then certainly don't worry about it. We have a handful of organizations we were considering approaching to help with door and security services. I just noticed what you said about wanting some community exposure, and thought I try and help out.
If you're interested, send me a message here, and I'll put you in touch with the guy running the show. If it's not something you have the spare resources for, then again, welcome to FredRocks, and best of luck with your company.
