ANNAPOLIS (AP) — Maryland drivers, beware: this is the last day you can send a text message while driving without breaking the law.
The new law taking effect Thursday will make sending a text message while driving punishable by a fine of up to $500.
Drivers will still be allowed to read text messages sent to them.
